Winter Death Valley Engagement Session | Aly & Alex

Aly and Alex enjoy the view at Death Valley National Park during their engagement photo session.

When people come to Death Valley for their weddings or engagements, I already know we’re going to get along. There are a few reasons for that, but I feel like the desert attracts a certain type of person. And that’s especially true for a place so wild, remote, and underrated as Death Valley National Park.

We met up with Aly and Alex while the sun was shining. Its golden glow illuminated the colorful cliffs and valleys. Better still, the air was full of that wonderful warmth that only a winter in the desert can offer. It was an ideal spot for Aly and Alex’s engagement photos.

Next, Isiah and I headed to the expansive salt flats with Aly and Alex in tow. Here, our couple changed their outfits. They really struck a vibe on the stark landscape with the early sunset just beyond Telescope Peak.

We wrapped the night watching the stars appear over the rainbow hills. It was fairly dark, but our couple got close and danced in front of the headlights of their trick. Romantic, right?

Some people might not think a park called Death Valley as romantic—but so many couples do. They feel the calling of the desert. They appreciate the sweeping valleys, climbing cliffs, and endless skies as enchanting. And so do I.

Meet Your Death Valley Photographer

I'm Diana Lustig, a California native with a camera for a hand and an inborn love for the outdoors. I'm a professional photographer of 15 years and counting. In my free time you'll find me traveling with my husband in our van, Clyde.

How did i get into wedding and elopement photography? In 2019, I hired adventure photographers for my own wedding and they showed me there’s a different, more personal way to get married. It was such a special day, I want to bring it to so many more couples who believe in getting married their own way.
