Hot Creek Engagement Photos
Katrina & Chad
Some places are just too beautiful to be believed. Walking up to Hot Creek for the first time feels like you’re dreaming. A winding river cut through volcanic tuff, leading up to a perfectly aligned view of Mount Morrison. It’s amazing—no wonder so many couples want to come there for their photoshoots.
Enter Katrina and Chad. These two drove their manual Jeep all the way from Sacramento to the East Side for their engagement photos. Despite getting married elsewhere, they wanted to capture moments from one of their favorite camping areas.
The two camped just down the road. We met up just before sunset at Hot Creek to take some photos. There were plenty of people on a nice weather weekend, but we were still able to get away from the crowds. Just check out these amazing photos where Katrina and Chad braved cliffside edges for great photos.
Then we headed to a better spot for Jeep photos. The surrounding sagebrush and loose dirt made for some fun photos as these two danced, dipped, and hung off their Jeep.

Meet Your Hot Creek Engagement Photographer
I'm Diana, a Joshua Tree local and California-born adventurer with a camera for a hand and an inborn love for the outdoors. I'm a professional photographer of 21 years and counting and I’ve captured many photography sessions around the Mammoth Lakes and Eastern Sierra.
How did I get into wedding and elopement photography? In 2019, I hired adventure photographers for my own wedding and they showed me there’s a different, more personal way to get married. It was such a special day, I want to bring it to so many more couples who believe in getting married their own way.
