Twin Peaks, San Francisco Engagement Session

From sand and surf in Pacifica, California to San Francisco’s Twin Peaks, Sean and Diana decided on a two-part photoshoot to celebrate their engagement.

While the first session was silly and soggy—as the couple ran into the waves on pineapple floaties—they decided the second half of their engagement photo session should be classy and put together.

It was a quiet morning in the city with soft lighting everywhere. I met Sean and Diana at the base of Twin Peaks and started the short, brisk hike to the top. Because it was so early, we had sunrise all to ourselves—a rare occurrence for such a popular tourist area.

If you catch it at the right time, Twin Peaks offers a reprieve from the rush of the city below. It’s really a special place to take in the view. From the lookout, you can watch the city slowly wake up.

Our couple laughed and danced—feeling like they were on top of the world. An ideal way to celebrate an important milestone in their relationship.

After about an hour of shooting, twirling, hiking, and kissing—the couple decided to recharge from their early morning escapades by grabbing some coffee and donuts. A delightful way to start the day.

Twin Peaks: Know Before You Go

Interested in a couple’s photo session in Twin Peaks? There are a few things you should know.

Twin Peaks is an incredibly popular spot up a winding and steep road in San Francisco. Weekends and sunset are extremely busy and you may have a hard time finding parking. Head in early and always check road signs to ensure your parking spot is good to go.

Safety is a priority—so be aware of your surroundings and don’t leave ANY valuables in the car. While San Francisco is a fantastic city, it does have its downsides too. Theft happens, so don’t leave something in the car that you want to see again.
