I've always said that early mornings on the beaches of Malibu hold a special kind of magic. There's something about the way the mist clings to the air, the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore, and the serene stillness that makes it feel like you've stepped into another world.
It's a far cry from the bustling weekends when cars line PCH and people dot every inch of the sand. Don't get me wrong—California's beaches are beautiful no matter when you visit, but sometimes, you just need a moment of peace.
That's exactly what Connie and Elliot were looking for when they decided to have their maternity photos taken in Malibu. They wanted to capture this special time in their lives in a tranquil and timeless place. And let me tell you, we found it on that early, moody morning.

As I drove up to our spot, I could feel the excitement building. The beach was pretty empty, save for a few seagulls and the occasional morning jogger. When the sky looks like this—all soft gray and blue—it makes for an intimate photo backdrop.
Connie and Elliot arrived with their dog. We started our session by the water's edge. Connie's flowing dress caught the gentle breeze, creating a dreamy effect that mirrored the calm waves behind her. Elliot stood by her side, his hand resting gently on her belly.
One of my favorite moments was when their dog decided to join in on the fun. There’s something so heartwarming about including your furry family members in these special moments. The dog ran circles around them, barking happily, and Connie and Elliot couldn't help but laugh. Got to love those candid moments.
Towards the end of our session, we found a secluded spot where the rocks met the sand. Connie sat down, cradling her belly, while Elliot knelt beside her, their heads close together.
