An Accessible Bay Area Maternity Session | Sara & Regi

Maternity photoshoots are an absolute delight. I have to admit, I was worried about photographing families early in my career because I thought it might dilute my brand as an outdoor wedding and elopement photographer. But it turns out I really enjoy taking photos of expecting parents and their baby-to-be.

Regi and Sara stand together on a walkway during their maternity photography session.

Take Sara and Regi for instance. This couple has been sweet on each other since high school. And while I haven’t known them since the beginning of their relationship, I did attend their wedding. One of the fun parts about being a photographer is capturing your friends' big life moments. Funny enough, I even found out about their pregnancy by Sara requesting my photo services. I immediately asked her, “Oh my god is this how I find out?”

Outdoor maternity photos are super cute. But they’re not without their challenges. We obviously didn’t want mom hiking too far, so we landed on a park and beach located in the Bay Area for our photoshoot. We even brought a chair so she could be comfortable and happy during the photoshoot.

Coyote Point Recreational Area is a lovely place for photos. There’s beach access, plenty of trails for hiking and biking, and lots of people soaking in the outdoor beauty.

The maternity photoshoot turned out great and the couple couldn’t be happier with the results. So three cheers to the new parents and their littlest family member.

Meet Your Bay Area Maternity Photographer

I'm Diana Lustig, a California native with a camera for a hand and an inborn love for the outdoors. I'm a professional photographer of 15 years and counting. In my free time you'll find me traveling with my husband in our van, Clyde.

How did i get into wedding and elopement photography? In 2019, I hired adventure photographers for my own wedding and they showed me there’s a different, more personal way to get married. It was such a special day, I want to bring it to so many more couples who believe in getting married their own way.
